The advertised percentages should not be treated as equal products. PureFi offers a projected investment return connected to real estate. Axos Bank offers variable APYs on deposit accounts.

What Is PureFi?

PureFi is a digital savings platform that lets users buy shares of individual rental homes from their phones. It is not a bank or a conventional savings account.

Users complete an identity check and add dollars to a self-custodial wallet. They can choose a suggested mix of homes or select individual properties. Each home is bought outright, professionally managed, and supported by legal documents available through the app.

When tenants pay rent, the user’s share is added to their balance. The money can be reinvested in more property shares or taken out. Property values may also rise or fall.

PureFi advertises up to 6% projected earnings APY from real estate. This figure is variable and not guaranteed. The result depends on rental income, property expenses, home values, and the mix of properties owned.

There is no monthly account fee. Each property-share order includes a one-time purchase fee that is shown before confirmation.

PureFi may suit someone looking for a high-yield investment platform tied to identifiable real assets. Read How to Invest in Real Estate for more information about fractional ownership, rental earnings, and property risk.

What Savings Options Does Axos Bank Offer?

Axos Bank is an online bank offering checking, savings, CDs, loans, and investment services. Its savings lineup includes Axos ONE Savings and Summit Savings.

Axos ONE Savings

Axos ONE combines checking and savings. Customers can receive a boosted APY on their savings balance when the linked Axos ONE Checking account meets specific monthly requirements.

As of September 24, 2026, the boosted savings APYs were:

  • 4.21% on balances from $0 to $249,999.99
  • 3.50% on balances of $250,000 or more

Customers who do not qualify for the boosted rate receive the 1.00% standard APY.

To qualify, the checking account must meet one of two options during the monthly qualification period.

Option 1

Receive at least $1,500 in total qualifying direct deposits and maintain an average daily checking balance of at least $1,500.

Option 2

Receive at least $5,000 in total qualifying deposits and maintain an average daily checking balance of at least $5,000.

Qualifying transactions must post and clear by the 25th of the month. Deposits arriving after that date count toward the next qualification period.

Axos ONE has no monthly maintenance, minimum balance, opening, or overdraft fees. The checking side can also earn up to 0.51% APY when the requirements are met.

Summit Savings

Summit Savings provides a simpler high-yield digital savings account without linked checking requirements.

As of September 2026, it offered 3.75% APY on every balance. There is no minimum opening deposit, minimum ongoing balance, or monthly maintenance fee.

Summit Savings includes mobile check deposits, external account linking, online transfers, free incoming wires, and 24/7 digital account access. Customers can also request an ATM card.

Someone who cannot meet the Axos ONE checking requirements may find that Summit Savings produces a better result than the 1.00% Axos ONE standard APY.

PureFi vs Axos Bank Rates and Earnings

PureFi displays the highest percentage, but it also carries investment risk. Axos offers lower rates on insured deposits.

How PureFi Generates Projected Earnings

PureFi’s projected earnings come from rental income and possible changes in property values. When rent is collected, users receive an amount based on the shares they own.

The advertised figure is up to 6% projected APY. “Up to” means users should not assume every property will produce the full percentage.

Actual results can differ because tenants may leave, property expenses may change, and home values can rise or fall. Property selection also matters because different homes may produce different rental results.

How Axos Bank Calculates Savings Earnings

Axos Bank applies its current APY to the qualifying savings balance. The APYs are variable, so the bank can raise or lower them.

Axos ONE customers must meet the linked checking requirements each month to receive the boosted rate. Someone who qualifies one month may receive the standard rate during another month if the required activity is not completed.

Summit Savings does not use the same activity rules. Its 3.75% APY applies across the balance tiers shown by Axos, without a direct-deposit or checking-balance condition.

Here is a simplified comparison using $10,000 for one year:

OptionPercentage usedEstimated earnings
PureFiFull projected 6.00%$600
Axos ONE boosted rate4.21%$421
Summit Savings3.75%$375
Axos ONE standard rate1.00%$100

These estimates assume the percentage remains unchanged and the full amount stays in place for one year. They do not include PureFi’s purchase fee, property value changes, deposits, withdrawals, or changes to Axos rates.

Our guide to what APY means on a savings account explains why the percentage alone does not guarantee a specific dollar result.

PureFi vs Axos Bank Fees and Requirements

Neither PureFi nor the two Axos savings products in this comparison charge a monthly maintenance fee.

PureFi charges a one-time fee when users buy property shares. The amount is displayed on the order before the purchase is confirmed. There is no recurring deposit requirement for maintaining the projected APY.

Axos ONE does not charge opening, maintenance, minimum balance, or overdraft fees. Its main tradeoff is the monthly qualification process. Missing the requirements is not a fee, but it can reduce the savings APY from the boosted rate to 1.00%.

Summit Savings removes those activity requirements. It has no monthly maintenance fee, no balance requirement, and no minimum initial deposit.

The better Axos option therefore depends on how you manage your money. Axos ONE may provide the higher rate if you regularly receive enough qualifying deposits and maintain the required checking balance. Summit Savings may be simpler if you want to deposit money without monitoring monthly conditions.

Features and Access to Funds

PureFi and Axos Bank both provide mobile access, but they do not offer the same type of liquidity.

PureFi Access and Features

PureFi users hold cash in a self-custodial wallet. PureFi says it cannot transfer, freeze, lend, or spend the wallet balance without the user. After that cash is used to buy property shares, it becomes an investment. Users access the invested value by selling shares at the current market price.

PureFi does not impose a fixed lock-up. However, the current sale price may be higher or lower than the original purchase price. Selling without a lock-up does not guarantee the original amount will be recovered.

The platform is available in more than 86 countries and supports funding from more than 160 countries, subject to local availability.

Axos Bank Access and Features

Axos provides online and mobile account management. Customers can check balances, transfer money, deposit checks, link external accounts, pay bills, and create account alerts.

Axos also advertises more than 95,000 fee-free ATMs. Specific ATM access depends on the account and card. Summit Savings customers can request an ATM card.

Axos ONE includes both checking and savings. Its checking features include early direct deposit and ATM access, which may make it more practical for everyday banking.

Axos also offers CDs, personal loans, mortgages, business accounts, and separate investment services. Customers who want several financial products under one provider may value this broader range.

An online savings app or high-yield savings app may make account management easier, but transfer processing times and limits can still apply. Axos states that inbound transfers may take three to five business days and that new accounts can begin with lower transfer limits.
